Lyrics

Seventeen

Remember I was seventeen
When I saw everything
and I was seventeen
by day I touched a rising moon
The sunlight of a dawn
Dream garden in full bloom

Remember I was seventeen
When I dreamed everything
and I was seventeen
The world behind my open eyes
A growing universe
And there was no disguise

Remember I was seventeen
When I catched everything
and I was seventeen
Death was just a broken toy
A grayed pawn in my hand
Religion mother´s joy

Remember I was seventeen
When I felt everything
and I was seventeen
The Time went by to fill my love
distinguish glory and
Wings of a flying dove

Remember I was seventeen
When I saw everything
and I was seventeen

I wish to run beside the one –
I feel insane
and fear to lose sight of the one –
This is my chase again
I wish to run beside the one –
I feel insane
and fear to face one day the one
Drawing with a chain

When I rush to one side
and I rush
Will I miss tomorrow
I see the yesterday
When I rush to one side
and I rush
Will I see the other side
To live in the Here and Now

Winter Comes Tomorrow

I give up and slow down
Beside a rapid stream
I feel cold close my eyes
speed through inciting dreams

A soft breeze on my skin
sweet taste on my tounge
Merging moves in brisk air
can feel the summer sun

I control my weird mind
And my voice within
my concealed fear to fail
will never end

Between truth and bare lie
There is a whispering:
Let´s get down to brass tacks
Will you confess a sin

Solid ground, lucid sky
I dwell in cosy times
Fooling sounds, soft and calm
Touch my ear like wind chimes

I look up and remain
Still hear the rapid stream
Like a prayer without words
Affecting silent dreams

There´s a bash in my head
welcome reality
I would like to get out
with dignity

Between truth and bare lie
There is a whispering:
Let´s get down to brass tacks
Will you confess a sin

Tell my why
I should try

I want to come to
when winter comes tomorrow
I want to come to you
my mellow bleeding heart

I want to come to
when winter comes tomorrow
I want to come to you
my frozen bleeding heart
for a new start

A new world made of snow
A New life made of snow

www.depechemode.de Tipp! 05.2010

Even though singles aren’t released that often nowadays, I could really recommend getting this one, it’s by far one of the best singles I’ve heard in a long time and it’s a worthy appetizer for what’s to come on "Inner Zone Journey” this spring.
